Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto will miss his next start because of a strained muscle in his back, but has not been shut down for the season. Cueto is a close second in the NL ERA race. He would need to pitch again to have enough innings to qualify for the title. Cueto left Wednesday night's game against the Cubs in the fourth inning because of the problem on the upper right side of his back.

Jazz guard Raja Bell will miss Utah's game against the Orlando Magic with a strained right adductor muscle. Bell averages 8.4 points and often guard the opponent's top scorer. He also missed Utah's 115-108 loss to Oklahoma City last month with a strained left groin. Gordon Hayward, the ninth overall pick in the 2010 draft out of Butler, got the start Friday night in place of Bell.

Brazilian forward Ronaldinho has strained his left hamstring and will miss the Emirates Cup being hosted in London by Arsenal this weekend. AC Milan said in a statement Thursday that Ronaldinho will be out for seven days with a strained left femoral bicep. He comlained of pain Wednsday night after the day's second training session in Milanello and underwent tests Thursday.
